Olaf Carrera

Olaf has over two decades of experience in public affairs and stakeholder management, having led the Government and Public Affairs activities in Mexico of one of the world’s largest energy companies and at the largest business chamber outside the U.S. representing the interests of U.S. and global companies.

His expertise is in designing and implementing complex relationship building strategies and leading advocacy efforts with all levels of government and wide-ranging stakeholders including NGOs, academia, multilateral institutions, and diplomats. He played a key role in Mexico’s historic energy reform in 2013 serving as a principal interlocutor between actors in Mexico, the U.K. and other countries who shared best practices and global experiences with authorities and lawmakers that led to the drafting and passage of the reform Bill.

He has also coached C-suite executives to successfully engage with government, media, and other external stakeholders on politically sensitive topics such as energy, pharma, tobacco, and banking.

Olaf’s multicultural background - a dual national of Mexico and the United States who has lived, worked, and studied in both countries and visited more than 70 countries and territories on six continents – imbues his training skills and interactions with clients and colleagues.
